Diabetes referrals
Patients are seen only at the request of the patient's family practitioner or referring consultant. For routine appointments, please write, fax or phone the consultant you wish your patient to see.
Most patients will be seen within two months of referral, but if you wish your patient to be seen urgently, please telephone or fax the consultant's secretary.
Diabetes clinics occur every weekday, so urgent patients can usually be seen the same week. The diabetes registrar is also available for advice during working hours (please ring the main switchboard and ask the operator to contact the on-call diabetes registrar).
