Taking Positive Steps for falls prevention

Taking Positive Steps is an ongoing falls prevention project run by UHB. It involves specialist falls prevention nurses providing care home staff with falls prevention training.

The main goal of the project is to upskill the workforce within the care home sector in Birmingham to enable staff to provide safer care and in turn reduce the risk of residents suffering harm whilst in a care home.

The current phase of the project began in June 2014 and will continue until July 2015. This phase is funded by the Local Education and Training Board (LETB), an NHS organisation.
