Nuclear medicine information for GPs

The Nuclear Medicine Department provides a comprehensive range of nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapy procedures, including carbon-13 urea breath tests for Helicobacter Pylori and a dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) bone density service.

Direct access to DXA scanning has been restricted since March 2020 due to COVID-19. GP DXA scanning requests will be added to a waiting list and processed in order when full service resumes. We apologise for this inconvenience.
