Training will consist of all the skills necessary to be signed off as a competent chronic dialysis trained nurse.

The standard period of supernumerary time for a new registered nurse with no dialysis skills is three months. For nurses already with skills in renal and dialysis this time will be reduced according to the individual’s experience and evidence of competency.

Likewise for unqualified care assistants, training and completion of competency will be provided to enable both staff groups the ability to care for renal patients requiring haemodialysis. Training and skills required to support extended roles will also be encouraged and supported.

The dialysis centre runs Monday – Saturday, between 07:00 and 00:00. Therefore, depending on the role, there are a number of shift patterns available. This means there is a great deal of flexibility when it comes to working at the centre.

We will provide you with good quality, comfortable uniforms.

These will be in the form of either tunic and trousers or dresses, depending on your preference.

Footwear and socks/stockings are to be purchased by the individual.

Staff can take advantage of free parking on site.

The centre is also excellently positioned for travelling via public transport due to its proximity to Smethwick High Street.

There are a number of bus routes (54, 61 and 854) that stop very close to the building on Rabone Road, and Smethwick Rolfe Street station is just a short walk away.

The Midland Metro tram is also close by.
