In a night of celebration and thanks, patients, relatives and colleagues came together to recognise the hard work, dedication and commitment of staff and volunteers who go above and beyond to deliver the best in care.

The eighth annual Best in Care Awards, which took place on Thursday 24 November 2016, recognised innovation and achievement and applauded those who go the ‘extra mile’ to provide excellent care.

The worthy winners received certificates and prizes presented by a host of famous faces including Olympic bronze medallist and European Champion Kristian Thomas, who competed for Team GB’s men’s gymnastics team in Rio. Other’s included BBC broadcaster Sarah Falkland, former Birmingham poet laureate Charlie Jordan and members of the GB Women’s hockey team who sent their praise via a series of special video messages.
