Birmingham Accident Hospital reunion
Story posted/last updated: 01 September 2016
Did you work at the Birmingham Accident Hospital?
Former staff and friends of the hospital are invited to share their memories at a reunion on Sunday 2 October 2016.
The "acci", as it was informally known, was a world-class leading trauma centre and is recognised as a forerunner of the modern day trauma centre network. It closed its doors in Bath Row 23 years ago but its former staff continue to hold regular reunions.
Consultant Sir Keith Porter, a former employee and now the UK's only Professor of Clinical Traumatology, said:
"This reunion afternoon will include a presentation of memorabilia, which will bring back fond memories for anyone who worked at the acci.
"We hope to see many old friends there to celebrate the ongoing legacy of the work that is still benefiting patients today."
The reunion will be held at Rowheath Pavilion, Bournville, B30 1HH and will run from 14:30–18:30. Refreshments will be served at 16:00, and tickets are £10 each.
For more information, please email Keith Porter or Kelly Butler.
