Careers event for student nurses/ODPs
Story posted/last updated: 06 December 2017
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) will be holding an on-site careers event on Wednesday 24 January 2018 for student nurses and ODPs. This event is aimed at those students who will qualify by March 2019, and are considering their first job as a qualified nurse/practitioner.
The event will provide you with information about our preceptorship programmes and the clinical practice settings we can offer to newly-qualified staff. You will be provided with information about working at the Trust, the wards and departments where you could take up your first position and hear about our training and development opportunities.
For those students who will be undertaking their management placements with us during 2018, this is a real opportunity for you to consider where this could be with a view to undertaking your first post in the same ward/department or theatre.
There will be plenty of opportunities to meet staff and have a chat about working at UHB.
There will be three concurrent sessions running on the day, beginning at 09:00, 11:00 and 14:00. All sessions will start in Lecture Theatre 3, Education Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
You should expect to be here for about two to three hours – please arrive ahead of your chosen time as the sessions will start promptly.
There's no need to book a place; just come along. We will provide you with refreshments and all the information you will need to know about applying for your first post as a registered nurse/practitioner.
If you are a student on placement in the Trust, you will be contacted about which session to attend – this will ensure you have adequate time to ask questions and find out the information you need.
