Due to essential road works, patients and visitors are advised that there are likely to be morning and evening traffic delays caused by temporary traffic lights on Mindelsohn Way, starting on Monday 5 August. The project involves laying high-voltage cabling and is scheduled to last until 22 September. However, the work will be carried out in phases to minimise disruption.

Phase 1

Phase 1, which started on Monday 5 August and is scheduled to finish by Friday 23 August, involves temporary traffic signals on Mindelsohn Way, between Car Park K (staff car park next to Fisher House) and the Main Entrance, Heritage Building. Marshalls will be positioned at potential pinch points to help traffic flow and direct drivers, where necessary. Shuttle bus routes and pedestrian crossings/access will not be affected and access to all buildings for deliveries, drop-off and pick-up will be maintained. However, some on-road parking spaces may be out of use on a temporary basis.

Phase 2

Phase 2 is scheduled to begin on Monday 26 August and to last until 2 September. This will involve temporary traffic signals on Mindelsohn Way between the Main Entrance, Heritage Building and Car Park D (visitor car park next to Nuffield House). Marshalls will be positioned at potential pinch points to help traffic flow and direct drivers, where necessary. Shuttle bus routes and pedestrian crossings/access will not be affected and access to all buildings for deliveries, drop-off and pick-up will be maintained.

Phases 3 and 4 will be reviewed once the works have begun.

Travel advice

Where possible, we would suggest trying to use public transport to get to and from the hospital during this time. We would also recommend leaving extra time for getting to appointments.
