The Hearing Assessment and Rehabilitation Centre (HARC) is moving from its current location at Selly Oak Hospital to a newly refurbished area within Nuffield House, located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital site. It will open to patients in its new home on Monday 10 December 2012.

HARC is the last clinical department to move from the main Selly Oak Hospital campus, which is still home to several non-clinical departments, including Communications and Human Resources. The Occupational Health team remains at the Woodlands Nurses Home.

As well as transferring to a new location, HARC will change its name to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Audiology Centre. Patients have been informed of the move and will benefit from excellent new purpose-designed facilities.  

Dr Huw Cooper, Consultant Clinical Scientist (Audiology), said: “The new department will help us to deliver the best possible care to our patients. Our existing staff team will move across to Nuffield House so we will bring with us the expertise built up over many years at Selly Oak Hospital.

"We have developed an excellent reputation for providing a unique range of services to adults affected by problems with hearing, balance or tinnitus – our new state-of-the-art facilities will allow us to build on this for the future.”
