Are you interested in learning more about common neurological conditions, the effect head injuries can have on the brain or are you considering a career in the neuroscience department? If so, this free interactive conference is for you.

Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system and the brain. It explores the chemistry of the brain, the brain’s physiological processes and the interactions between the brain and the rest of the body. 

Patients with neurological conditions may have a range of symptoms, often meaning they are admitted to non-neuroscience departments or local hospitals without a specialist department.

What will I learn?

Taking place on 6 October 2017, the conference aims to provide a grounding of knowledge about a range of neurological conditions, the care these patients may require and to provide exposure to the wide range of CNS and charity support available for staff and patients at QEHB.

There will be a range of different learning opportunities, including talks on Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and neuro-oncology and the specialist treatment that spinal patients require, including collar care and the importance of a bowel regime.

There will be opportunities to speak to specialists about their roles and the way in which evolving techniques and technologies are making significant improvements to patients' everyday lives.

Lunch, coffee and cake will be provided throughout the day.
