Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

QEHB documentary short-listed for BAFTA

Story posted/last updated: 01 November 2013

Making Faces – a documentary series which looked at the work of the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) – has been short-listed for a BAFTA.

The series has been nominated in the Factual Series category in the prestigious British Academy Scotland Awards, run by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Scotland.

The programme aired in September-October 2012 on Channel 5 and proved hugely popular. It followed the work of the MaxFacs team and their patients over a five-month period when production company IWC were embedded with the Trust.

The British Academy Scotland Awards celebrate and reward the highest achievements in Scottish Film, Television and Video Games.

Held annually, the Awards continue to be recognised across the country as the gold standard of excellence in the art forms of the moving image.

This year the Awards will take place on Sunday 17 November, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.
