Shop for Heroes
Story posted/last updated: 28 November 2012
Carry out your online shopping at a new website and you can help wounded military patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) at the same time.
Once you place your order at Shop for Heroes, or use one of the services listed, the supporting companies will give a percentage of your order to the QEHB Charity, without any money being added to your bill.
There are hundreds of companies for you to purchase goods from, including a host of household names such as Sainsbury’s, Halfords and Dorothy Perkins.
Founder Mark Allan has a military background and as a child was treated in a military hospital, leading him to create the website. He explained: “The concept is simple. When you purchase a service or product from an advertiser on this site, the advertiser contributes a percentage of the order value to the QEHB Charity’s military fund.
“As well as a variety of services and products to choose from, we also have special offers and voucher codes for you to use as a way of saying thank you for supporting the charity, the military patients and, of course, our supporting advertisers.”
To find out more or make a purchase please visit the Shop for Heroes website.
