Trust shortlisted for prestigious accolade

Story posted/last updated: 15 April 2014

The Research and Development department at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) has been shortlisted for one of the country’s most prestigious healthcare excellence awards.

The success of UHB in doubling the number of patients recruited to clinical trials has earned it a place among the finalists in the Clinical Research Impact category of the annual HSJ Awards.

The Trust’s submission focused on the way integrating research into the hospital’s core business impacted directly on the crucial area of patient recruitment to trials.
