"What's new in cystic fibrosis (CF) treatments?" event

Story posted/last updated: 26 June 2018

University Hospitals Birmingham and Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trusts are holding a joint interactive session for people with cystic fibrosis (CF), their parents and carers.

The event will be held at Heartlands Education Centre, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, B9 5SS on Saturday 7 July from 10:00 – 13:00.

Please consider taking part if you:

  • have CF, or know someone with CF
  • would like to know more about the new treatments being developed to treat CF
  • are confused by the information that is currently available and would like it explained in a more straightforward way
  • would like to ask questions and have them answered in real time

There are two ways to take part. If you are a relative, friend or carer of a person with CF; you can attend in person, or if you are a person with CF you can join in via the internet (using video link) in order to prevent cross-infection.

If you're attending in person, this is an interactive session, so please feel free to ask questions at any time. If you're taking part via the internet, we will provide a link nearer to the event which will enable you to access this. There will be plenty of opportunity for those taking part via the internet to ask questions if you wish, and to have them answered in real time.

There will be a break for tea, coffee and other refreshments and lunch will be provided - we will be sending out details so that appropriate catering can be provided.

Talks will be given by Dr Edward Nash and Dr Maya Desai, as well as an adult with CF and members of both the adult and paediatric CF multidisciplinary teams.

Registration
