Online video consultations

Some outpatient appointments at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) will be done via video allowing some patients to be seen by their clinical team face to face, wherever they are.

Patients who are clinically suitable to be seen via video consultation will be sent a text message with a secure link to their appointment.

Video consultations are an easy way to have an appointment with your care team, without the need for you to travel to the hospital. This can save you time, money, and the difficulty of getting to the hospital.

Video consultations are a safe and easy alternative to in person appointments and allow you to see your clinician from the comfort of your own home.

Patients who do not want to have a video consultation can request an in-person or telephone appointment.

The NHS quick guide for patients, outlining what they need for their video consultation and how to prepare for their appointment, is available to download in Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Italian, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian and Urdu.
