BCHI surgery

All surgery takes place at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The operation is usually performed under a local anaesthetic; however, other options may be discussed with you.

The operation usually lasts between 20 and 40 minutes. Most patients are able to go home that day, although occasionally you may need to stay overnight. You will not be able to wear the BCHI until the area has completely healed and the fixture has integrated, which normally takes about six weeks.
