The percentage of first-time, isolated CABG patients who are given anti-platelet therapy on the day of discharge remains steady over time
Why is this indicator important?
Anti-platelet drug therapy improves graft function through the prevention of clot formation for patients who have had a first-time, isolated CABG. It also helps prevent further cardiac problems.
The aim is for all eligible patients (patients for whom these drugs are suitable) to receive them on the day of discharge.
How do we measure this indicator?
The percentage of all patients admitted for first-time, isolated CABG given anti-platelet therapy (aspirin or clopidogrel) on the day of discharge.
