Notice of Election for the Council of Governors of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust

The Trust gives notice that it will hold elections to the Council of Governors of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB).

Elections are to be held for the number of governors below in accordance with the Trust’s constitution.

One governor for each of the following public constituencies

  • Edgbaston
  • Hall Green
  • Northfield
  • Selly Oak
  • Erdington, Hodge Hill, Ladywood, Perry Barr, Sutton Coldfield and Yardley

Two patient governors

To be eligible to stand for election, individuals must be members of the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. Membership forms can be obtained from the Corporate Affairs Department:

The period of appointment will commence on Tuesday 1 July 2014 and end on Friday 30 June 2017.

Nomination papers to stand for election can be downloaded near the bottom of this page and also obtained from the Returning Officer from Monday 14 April 2014.

If you are uncertain as to your eligibility to nominate yourself as a candidate in a constituency or have any queries, please contact the returning officer:

All nominations must be received by the returning officer at the address above by 12:00 on Thursday 15 May 2014. Please note that faxed or e-mailed nominations will not be accepted.

Notices of withdrawal must be made in writing, witnessed and received by the returning officer no later than 17:00 on Monday 19 May 2014.

In the event of more than one nominee for a position, ballot papers will be distributed to qualifying members on Tuesday 3 June 2014.

Completed ballot papers must be received by the returning officer by the close of poll at 17:00 on Thursday 26 June 2014.

The results of the elections will be published on the Trust website and membership letter.
