Directions to departments on level 1

Please note, the following directions start at the main entrance to the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

Education Centre and Library

  • Turn right at the information desk
  • Go through the double doors
  • Using the lifts in front of you, go to level 1
  • Turn right out of the lift
  • Continue along the corridor until you reach the Education Centre on your left

Emergency Department/Acute Medical Unit (AMU)

  • Access to the Emergency Department and the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) is from Mindelsohn Way. There is a 15 minute maximum waiting time for vehicles outside these departments. Car parking is available further along Mindelsohn Way in Car Park D

Major incident rooms

  • Turn right at the information desk
  • Walk past WH Smith and Costa Coffee
  • Go through the double doors
  • Using the lifts in front of you, go to level 1
  • Turn right out of the lift
  • Continue along the corridor until you reach the major incident rooms on your left

Therapies North Suite

  • Turn right at the information desk
  • Walk past WH Smith and Costa Coffee
  • Pass through the double doors
  • Using the lifts in front of you, go to level 1
  • Turn right out of the lift
  • Continue along the corridor until you reach Therapies North Suite on your right

University of Birmingham research laboratory

  • Turn right at the information desk
  • Walk past WH Smith and Costa Coffee
  • Go through the double doors
  • Using the lifts in front of you, go to level 1
  • Turn right out of the lift
  • Continue along the corridor until you reach the research laboratory on your left
