The Library at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

Library services

UHB libraries are a multidisciplinary knowledge service supporting Trust staff in all departments and students during their placements.

We provide quality-assessed information, evidence-based resources and information skills training at the point of need in support of clinical practice, healthcare management and leadership, clinical research, ongoing professional development and academic study.

Our purpose is to contribute towards improving patient outcomes, helping to deliver the best in care.

Opening times

The library is staffed 09:00 – 17:00, Monday – Friday. It also offers a self service facility outside of these hours where staff can issue, renew and return books.

Staff may access the Library 24/7 using their Trust ID card which includes the use of computers and study areas.

Library membership

All UHB staff and students while on placement at the Trust are eligible to join the library. To register for Library membership, please visit the BASE library website (see "Links" below).
