Where are the rooms?
Accommodation is situated in the Liver Unit accommodation rooms C26 and C27 on the 1st floor of Nuffield House. The number of the room is on the key tab.
There is a key for your bedroom along with a key for the corridor leading to your room.
There is also a key for the smoking and non-smoking lounges and the kitchen on the 2nd floor.
In addition to this there is a swipe card for access through the main doors out of hours and the basement tunnel which links Nuffield House to the main hospital.
What facilities are there?
There are shared bathroom facilities, with showers, on the 1st floor. However, you will have the use of the bathrooms on the 2nd floor, which do have baths.
There are kitchen, lounge and dining areas on the 1st and 2nd floors for you to use.
There is a TV, radio alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, and an internal telephone in your room for your use, all free of charge.
There will be an inventory of these items given to you on arrival for your signature.
All bedrooms are strictly no smoking.
Can I have someone stay with me?
The room is primarily for the use of patients. However, as they are twin rooms, you are allowed to have someone stay with you as long as they are 16 years of age or over.
The rooms are free of charge to patients but there is a standard charge for the room of £14.50 per night for anyone accompanying them.
Relatives etc are only allowed to stay in these rooms if the patient is also staying in them. There is separate accommodation available in the hospital for relatives etc only. For further information on this, contact:
Julia Jones, Ward Administrator: 0121 627 2246.
Please note, unfortunately there are currently no disabled facilities in the accommodation.
Where do I eat?
You have the choice of the Cellar Restaurant, situated on the lower ground floor of Nuffield House between 07:30 and 11:00, and 12:00 and 14:00. Alternatively you have the use of the Clock Tower Coffee Shop, situated on the ground floor of the main building, from 09:00 to 10:00.
There is a voucher for patients purchasing their meals which can be obtained from the nursing staff on the ward free of charge. However, anyone accompanying you will be charged as normal.
There is also the option of using the Morris Centre (social club), which serves lunch time and evening meals and drinks. However, your voucher is not valid there.

You should pick up your key from ward East 3 Liver Unit (E3LU). Come to the main entrance of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Take a lift or stairs to the 3rd floor (green zone).
