Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is a technique to look directly at the lining of your large bowel/intestine (colon).

AnEBUS is a technique to look directly at the tissue of the lungs.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)

An ERCP is a procedure which allows clinicians to examine the tubes (bile duct and gall bladder) that drain bile from the liver into the bowel and from the pancreatic duct into the bowel.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

An EUS is a technique similar to that of a gastroscopy or colonoscopy using a special type of probe which allows the endoscopist to look through your gullet or stomach at the surrounding organs.

Flexible sigmoidoscopy

A flexible sigmoidoscopy is a technique to look directly at the lining of the left side of your large bowel/intestine (colon).

Gastroscopy

A Gastroscopy is a technique to look directly into your gullet (oesophagus), stomach and first part of the small bowel called the duodenum.
