Ear, Nose and Throat department at University Hospitals Birmingham

Ear, nose and throat (ENT)

Ear, nose and throat surgery is the specialty concerned with the diagnosis and management of diseases of the:

  • ears
  • nose
  • throat
  • salivary glands
  • thyroid

Within University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, the ENT Department has a team of surgeons who provide a comprehensive service.  All of the consultants have a surgical area of sub-specialty interest and expertise.  The specialist services are provided through multidisciplinary  teams working with other surgical and medical specialties including:

  • maxillofacial surgeons
  • plastic surgeons
  • neurosurgeons
  • radiation oncologist
  • endocrinologists
  • respiratory physicians
  • allied health professionals such as:
  • speech and swallowing therapists
  • audiologists
  • dietitians
