Informal feedback from patients on the Acute Oncology Unit highlighted that the patient chairs were very uncomfortable, particularly if they were sitting in them for longer than a couple of hours receiving treatment.

We did

A team including Emma Steele, Deputy Associate Director of Nursing – Division D, and Kate Rogers, ward manager, along with the Acute Oncology team discussed the idea of changing from chairs to trollies.  Everyone was in agreement, so the trollies were ordered.

Emma added: “The trollies are more comfortable and can also be used for patients who have different diagnoses requiring a bed or issues with pain control. We have had very positive feedback from patients who have told us that the trollies are much more comfortable, especially as you can put the back rest up and rest your head back with a pillow. The team are very pleased with the change.”
